Jahnke named 2016 Friend of Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development Professionals

The Friend of WAE4-HYDP Award is designed to honor individuals, organizations, or businesses who are not WAE4-HYDP members but who have given substantial support to WAE4-HYDP at a multi-county or state level. This may include supporting the WAE4-HYDP mission, program philosophy, educational effort, personal services, leadership, and/or financial support.
Born in Northeastern Wisconsin, Pam Jahnke grew up in agriculture. Raised on her family’s 200 acre dairy farm, she learned the “farm work ethic” first hand. Pam has been dedicated to agriculture throughout her life being actively involved in both 4-H and FFA activities. She happily served as a 4-H camp counselor, was a dairy exhibitor in county fairs, and even reigned as Oconto County’s Dairy Queen.
Pam has supported Wisconsin 4-H in many ways as a member and an alumna. She has assisted with promotion of the great work done in Extension both in 4-H and Agriculture. She also has given her time and resources to help with programs such as Farm Technology Days, Ag Truths, Not Tails, and recently presented two seminars at the 2016 Wisconsin Joint Council of Extension Professionals Conference where she spoke on “How to work the Media” and on how “To Get the Good Word Out on Extension Programming. Jahnke was nominated by Bernie O’Rourke, Extension Youth Livestock Specialist, and Alissa Grenawalt, Extension Outreach Specialist, both from UW-Madison, Department of Animal Sciences.
